Ted Wachholz

Irena Burdon has been the full-time, live-in care-giver to my mom, Louise Wachholz (85) for nearly five years (November 2006 through the time of the writing of this reference letter).

Irena is very skilled as a care-giver. Due to the partial paralysis that my mom suffered, Irena has had to administer physical assistance (dressing and shower and bathroom). She has helped manage the multiple medications prescribed by the doctors, always ensuring in a pleasant and polite yet firm way that the meds be taken according to schedule. She has performed general housekeeping duties as well as preparing meals from day-to-day.

Irena is friendly, loving, and caring. She has been an incredible companion day-in and day-out to my mom, being there to laugh and cry together, to enjoy watching television together, to go for walks around the park together, and to teach each other new things (including teaching each other a little bit of English and Polish). She has a cute sense of humor that has brightened even the dreariest, gray days.

It should be noted that my father was alive and living with my mom during the first two years that Irena cared for my mom, so Irena lived with both of my parents during this period. She fit into my parents' household very nicely and was accepted and embraced by both, showing her ability to cohabitate with females as well as males and couples.

While Irena was initially employed by our family, within a few weeks of being hired she literally became a member of our family and will always remain as a member of our family. Irena's relationship with my mom has been more like a daughter than that of a care-giver.

My mom, my wife, and I - all three of us - give our absolute highest and best recommendations to you to consider hiring Irena in any care-giver capacity.

Jim & Marcia Frank

On behalf of the Frank family I would like to take the opportunity to recommend Ms. Anna Lupa. As a caretaker for a beloved member of our family, Anna provided unconditional and exceptional compassion. From September 5th 2003 until the passing of our mother and grandmother, Anna displayed an undeniable show of love and empathy in every aspect of giving care. Anna is a respectful, reliable, Intelligent and dedicated individual who has many desirable talents in home health care.

Anna always had a way of going above and beyond the call of her normal everyday duties. She took extra care to ensure Mom was always comfortable. In addition to maintaining a clean living space and preparing excellent meals, Anna ensured medication was dozed and given timely and properly. Anna showed sound udgment and was quick to learn from the hospice nurses and made every possible effort to implement her skills to Mom's benefit. Anna kept Mom's skin glowing, she painted her nails, and styled her hair. She would keep the bedroom window squeaky clean so that Mom may watch the playful squirrels run about the yard or clearly see the day's sunshine . Anna's warm smile always made visiting friends and family welcome. Her kind words and gestures not only made visitors smile, they made Mom smile even in her weakest state.

During the most dark and difficult times of Mom's suffering, Anna held Mom's hand reassuringly and never left her side. Anna is an exceptionally special individual. It is obvious she is passionate about her work and puts her heart and soul into taking care of others. We thank God everyday for bringing Anna into our lives and wish her all the best in every endeavor. My family and I are confident of her capabilities and would highly recommend her to any family in need of caregiving.
